Much Needed Fuel

So today we are out to sea about 150 miles off the coast getting refueled. We left the coast of Haiti at about 3 pm yesterday and sailed throughout the night. This morning at about 6 am we came along side another ship about the same size called the Leroy Grumman. Some of you remember this from your days on the Mercy. The two ships sail side by side at about 13 knots (don't ask me how fast that is in people speak cause I don't know!). They are able to connect fuel lines between the two ships. The whole process takes about 6 hours. They are just now finishing and then we will set sail to head back to the coast of Haiti. We kept the patients that were on board when we left Haiti with us and surgeries continued while we were out to sea. The fate of the mission is still unclear but it's a great group of folks on board. For the most part everyone is very positive and flexible and realizes that nothing is certian out here. It's a privilege to be able to participate regardless of how the mission requirements change.
